Aim of the courses

This FREE half-day seminar will bring you up to date with the state of the art in data acquisition hardware and software solutions.

If you need to increase your awareness about the latest PC-based techniques and technologies for collecting, monitoring and analysing signals realtime, then this seminar offers insight into the latest and best data acquisition solutions around.

The Seminar will...

  • Describe effective methods of setting up and automating data acquisition routines.
  • Explain and compare signal conditioning options.
  • Review the range of hardware options available for PC-based acquisition.
  • Discuss the use of analogue inputs/outputs, digital inputs/outputs, RS232 and IEEE-488 interfaces.
  • Show how to select the most appropriate sampling rate.
  • Describe sources of error (aliasing, noise etc) and how to avoid them.
  • Demonstrate some of the leading software tools available for setting up and running data acquisition and signal conditioning applications.

The Seminar will be held in our modern, purpose-built, air-conditioned Seminar Suite located within our main offices at Letchworth, Herts. The Suite is fully equipped with a computer data/graphics and video projection system, so that everyone is able to see and follow the presentations easily and in comfort. Refreshments are provided free of charge.

Lilly Northrop

Lilly graduated with a degree in Systems Engineering, developing multi-disciplinary knowledge which can be applied to the design and development of complex real world systems for all kinds of industries. Whilst on placement at National Instruments, she taught courses covering programming fundamentals and basic software architecture. Having worked as an Applications Engineer for National Instruments, and then a Systems Engineer before joining Adept, Lilly has considerable real-world experience of supporting or developing a wide range of DAQ systems, hardware and software.
