Aim of the course
This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge required to get the most out of
Reference Manager's extensive capabilities.
Who should attend?
This course is designed as an in depth introduction for new users and anyone thinking about using Reference Manager.
Your training course could cover any or all of the following topics:
- Learn about the database and record structure
- Search Reference Manager databases
- Direct Import into Reference Manager from online database (e.g. Web of Knowledge,
Highwire)
- Search online databases via Reference Manager (e.g. PubMed, z39.50 sites)
- Import references via text files
- Discover useful hints, tips and shortcuts
- Generate bibliographies within Microsoft Word
- Create Subject Bibliographies
Want to develop more advanced software skills with Reference Manager?
If you'd like to learn how to adapt Reference Manager to suit the way you work (such as creating and editing new reference types, import filters and output styles etc.) we can arrange additional 'Customising Reference Manager' training days if there is sufficient interest. After starting his working life as a Research and Development Electronics engineer in the defence industry, Bob Green moved into Computer System sales, before finding his true vocation in training. He now has over 17 years' experience in this field. In addition to delivering Adept's bibliographic software training, he is responsible for the training and development of all Adept's staff. He has the ability to communicate even the most complicated features in a way everyone can understand.
