Technical Computing Magazine - Issue 41

It’s not big, but it is clever!

This year TALtech, the Philadelphia-based company behind WinWedge data acquisition software, celebrated 25 years of providing data collection and communication solutions – and for much of that time, we at Adept Scientific have been supplying and supporting their products.

Their core software, WinWedge, isn’t complex, glamorous or exciting – just incredibly useful! What it does is take data from measuring devices and lab instruments – balances, gauges, meters, sensors, analysers, PLCs etc – and inputs it directly into your spreadsheet, database, maths software, LIMS, medical system or any other Windows application or web page.

Whether you connect your device via TCP/IP, USB or a good old-fashioned serial port, WinWedge will parse, filter and format it to your specifications, then feed it into your chosen Windows application. It’s simple to set up, and does its job with the minimum of fuss. There’s even a version for Windows mobile (CED) devices.

Manual data entry is tedious and prone to errors. Why do it when this simple piece of software can handle it all?

Click here to view our WinWedge Introductory Video to see just how quick, easy and painless it can be to get data from any RS232 measuring device directly into your preferred Windows application, or visit the WinWedge home page.
