ADwin: Real-Time for Real
Henrique Silva,
Data Acquisitions Sales Manager
ADwin data acquisition
systems offer precise
control of time
dependent processes.
Systems connect analogue and
digital inputs and outputs to a fast,
dedicated real-time processor. This makes
them ideal for closed-loop, signal
generation, measurement, machine control,
beam deflection, test bench, quality and
process control and a host of other real-time
data acquisition applications operating from
seconds to nanoseconds.
An ADwin system executes any task that
has to run fast, deterministically and with
precisely predictable time behaviour. For
example, data acquisition with chronological
and angular synchronism; signal generation
for laser and electron beam deflection and
control; or closed-loop control of motion
axes with force and position feedback.
A core component is ADbasic, a real-time
development environment that makes it
simple to program fast data acquisition and
both open- and closed-loop control
procedures, which are then executed by the
hardware’s real-time CPU at the appropriate
event trigger. Also included is ADtools, a
suite of self-contained, graphical Windows
applications to help you set up your ADwin
system and handle your data.
You can spec an ADwin system to your own
needs. The ADwin-Pro IIsystem (built around
a fast, powerful T11processor, which makes
pre-selection of relevant data, mathematical
channel functions and digital filtering
possible) offers a choice of analogue, digital
and counter modules (or a multi-I/O module offering all of them) as well as temperature
modules and interfaces for various bus
systems. If you're looking for higher
capacities, faster transfer speeds or better
resolution, we can offer ADwin options to suit
your exact - and exacting - requirements.
Or choose the all-purpose, versatile
ADwin-Gold II, a compact, high-capacity unit
with 16 analogue inputs and 2 outputs,
32digital I/Os (the digital inputs have FIFO
memory) and serial and ethernet interfaces.
All can be accessed from a self-contained,
freely programmable TiCo add-on processor
which is precise enough to process signal
patterns down to nanosecond range.
There's even a low-cost version for OEM
applications, ADwin-Light-16, available in a
compact metal enclosure, as a plug-in PC
module or a PCI board.
