Online Testing now easier than ever

Stephanie Rozek,
Marketing Engineer, Maplesoft

With the new release of the online testing and assessment system, Maple T.A., life just got easier for instructors.

Maple T.A. is an easy-to-use web-based system for creating tests and assignments, automatically assessing student responses and performance. It supports complex, free-form entry of mathematical equations and intelligent evaluation of responses, making it ideal for mathematics, science, or any course that requires mathematics. The just-released version 5.0 includes many enhancements and updates sure to take a load off any educator’s mind.

Maple T.A. 5.0 includes a completely new question management model which provides increased flexibility when organising questions. This new model also provides greatly improved performance when loading and saving questions, and an extremely simple process for sharing content with colleagues. With improved organisation, searching, performance, and question sharing, instructors can assemble assignments more quickly and reuse questions more effectively.

A new system administration interface makes it easier to set up and monitor Maple T.A. Starting from this single screen in Maple T.A., system administrators can adjust settings for email, authentication, Maple, and more, without having to directly access database fields or configuration. A selection of tools allows the creation of reports on usage activity, and system log files for advanced troubleshooting.

Connectivity to Blackboard software has also been expanded to include support for Blackboard Vista/CE. Using the Blackboard Connector for Maple T.A., which is available as a separate add-on, you can use Maple T.A. directly from within your Blackboard classes. Other new features in Maple T.A. include access to the full computational power of Maple™ 13, the latest version of Maple, a new user guide for course instructors, and an enhanced assignment editor.

If you’re not at one of the many UK institutions already taking advantage of this powerful tool, contact our product specialists for more information.
