A brand-new addition to the Adept Scientific range is Quanser – a
modular mix of hardware and software products that provide the tools students
need to learn and understand control theory, and perform practical, real-time
control experiments.
You may have heard of Quanser. It’s the world leader in the design
and manufacture of advanced systems for real-time control design and implementation
used in education and research: teaching establishments running control
engineering courses, educational labs where students need an intuitive
turnkey solution to work independently, or in fast-paced research or industrial
environments where development and testing deadlines are key.
Uniquely, Quansar systems are modular and
use the same base components that can be multi-purposed throughout
a wide range of experiment configurations. So by adding and removing various
modules you extend the functionality and create a greater variety of experiments
and challenges to explore.
That means you can offer a variety of control challenges appropriate
to all levels of university education and research. Students learn by tackling
real-world engineering problems using real, highquality kit, and hone their
practical skills with a thorough understanding of control theory principles.
The basis of every challenge Quanser sets is to design,
implement and test your control system of choice. Every linear and rotary
motion system is supplied with a state feedback controller; and control
systems are supplied with complete mathematical modelling as well as detailed
system parameters to help streamline the implementation you choose.
Quanser’s control challenges and solutions are ideal for implementing
and evaluating feedback strategies such as PID, LQG, H infinity, fuzzy,
neural nets, adaptive and nonlinear controllers.
There’s a comprehensive choice of control
solution software and data acquisition hardware so you can create fully
selfcontained control workstations. Quanser solutions can be used to deploy
an embedded system, explore hardware-in-theloop applications, or control
a number of alternative hardware systems.
Now easily available from (and, of course,
supported by) Adept Scientific in the UK, the Quanser range incorporates
a very broad choice of hardware and software modules for linear and rotary
motion, mechatronic and speciality applications. The modular configuration
means you can mix and match a limited range of components to perform many
different experiments of varying complexity – more
experiments to explore, unrivalled flexibility, and great value for money!
Why not see for yourself what you can do with the Quanser range? We currently
have some 30 online movies that vividly demonstrate a broad selection of
applications – you’re
