Spelling and grammar checkers. We can’t live without them, right?
But for those of us producing technical and scientific documents, whilst
they might be useful, they can be hard work too. For every mistyped word
they show up, there are half a dozen perfectly good ones highlighted too,
simply because they might not be ones in your average office worker’s
everyday documents.
With sciPROOF, that all changes. This brilliant piece of software vastly
expands the Microsoft Office spellchecker with a comprehensive database
of over 250,000 scientific, medical and chemical terms - a database which
can be constantly updated online too. The spell checker is compatible
with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Outlook Express, Power Point, Front Page,
Excel, Access and Microsoft Project … and that includes the new
Microsoft Office 2003.
There’s more: sciPROOF tackles style-checking too, with patent
pending proofreading technology. You can now integrate and proofread required
formats and styles, for example: italics (e.g. Genus species), sub- and
super-scripts, acronyms and Greek symbols.
The difference is plain to see. With the standard Microsoft Word spellchecker,
even an almost perfectly-written document can be a mass of red and green
wavy lines. Using sciPROOF to check it, only the genuinely misspelt or
mistyped words are highlighted. This is one piece of software which will
start saving you time and money from the moment you install it on your
PC.
