Article: The PXI route to better T&M

Innovative Taiwanese manufacturer ADLINK has been responsible for some of the most cost-effective PXI instrumentation hardware we've seen in the last couple of years. Their latest instrumentation chassis range, including both PXI and CompactPCI products, provides a typically versatile, practical and economical solution.

PXI (PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation) is becoming an ever more popular solution for test and measurement and automation applications. While maintaining complete CompactPCI interoperability, it adds system timing capability (trigger bus, system reference clock and local bus) which makes it ideal for a great many instrumentation applications.

ADLINK’s new chassis range includes a 3U, 6-slot chassis which features a plug-in power supply and high brightness 6.4" TFT display. The unit is compact size (4U high) with side handles for portable applications, feet on the bottom for desktop applications, and a wall-mounting kit too.

Also available are 3U cPCI and PXI CPU modules incorporating USB, Ethernet and Compact Flash storage.
