Required reading in data acquisition

Article: Required reading in data acquisition

A new 12-page free guide from Adept Scientific’s data acquisition team should be required reading if you ever need to specify a data acquisition system.

Within the guide you’ll find details of time-saving data acquisition options that simply plug into the external USB port on your PC, so users don’t have to be computer technicians to use them! Or if you’re looking to record a mix of signals on your PC, at a high rate, there’s a dedicated PCI data acquisition package to fit your needs.
Alternatively, if you intend to integrate the hardware directly with existing network infrastructure using Ethernet connectivity, then you’ll find the ideal solution in the guide.

The featured DynaRes series of data acquisition products is a typical example of how hardware has developed dramatically recently, and why this guide is therefore so useful. This high accuracy, PCI-based thermocouple and multipurpose data acquisition package runs ‘out of the box’ with everything included, including DaqView software, plus drivers for DASYLab, LabVIEW, and Windows-based languages including Visual Basic and C++.

DynaRes hardware is comprised of a plug-and-play PCI board, three feet of cable, and a screw terminal/signal conditioning pod. All power for the DynaRes is derived from the PC, so there is no need for external power supplies or transformers. In addition to thermocouple inputs, DynaRes also provides 7 differential voltage input channels, with 16 bit resolution and programmable full scale input ranges from ±156 mV to ±10V.
