You've got a state-of-the-art data acquisition board from ComputerBoards with its surface mount electronics, onboard voltage source and all manner of technical niceties. But are screw terminals the only way you can connect them up? Not any more. In a move which will be received delightedly in R&D labs (and indeed more widely), ComputerBoards is now offering specially designed 'BNC Boxes' units which link the board's analogue inputs to a panel of 16 industry-standard BNC connectors. These boxes can be daisychained to offer all 64 channels of boards such as the PCI-DAS64 as BNC terminals. There's more. Analogue outputs and the various digital I/O functions are available on the front panel too, through a 37-pin 'D' connector. There are also BNC connectors on the front and back for analogue trigger inputs. And in addition on the back you'll find the ribbon cable connections to the PCI-DAS 1600/1200/1000 families (50-pin) and the CIO-DAS 1600/1400/16 families (37-pin). ComputerBoards' BNC Boxes are already making life a lot easier in the benchtop test and measurement environment. They join a range of similar connection products from the company, including detachable screw terminals available on all boards (wire once: no rewiring if you change boards) and DIN rail mounting kits for external screw terminal and signal conditioning boards. All are detailed in the latest catalogue available free. |
