New wireless temperature logging DAQ from Measurement Computing

 

Measurement Computing Corporation (Norton, MA), the value leader in data acquisition, has announced the release of the WiFi-501-TP temperature data logging sensor.

Available from Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts), the WiFi-501-TP is a WiFi-based temperature data logging sensor with thermistor probe which measures the temperature of the environment in which the probe is situated. Data is transmitted wirelessly via a WiFi network to a PC and is viewed using the software included. It can then be placed anywhere within range of the network. If the sensor temporarily loses connectivity with the network, it will log readings until it is able to communicate again with the PC application (max 120 days at 10 second sample interval).

This WiFi-501-TP is a battery-powered device and, when configured using typical sampling periods (e.g. once every 60 seconds), the sensor will operate for over one year. The battery can be recharged via a PC or USB +5 V wall adapter.

The software included will allow set-up, data logging and data review. Set-up features will include sensor name, °C/°F, sample rate and high/low alarms. Once configured, historic data can be viewed via the graphing tool or exported to Excel.

Wireless solutions: introducing MCC’s WiFi-502, WLS series

 

The WiFi-502 is the perfect solution for wireless data acquisition for a variety of temperature and humidity monitoring applications. From Measurement Computing Corporation (MCC) (Norton, MA), the WiFi-502 is 802.11b compliant and has an on screen data display which simultaneously saves data directly to a PC.

Available from Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts), the rechargeable WiFi-502 measures the temperature and humidity of the environment in which it is situated. Data is transmitted wirelessly via a WiFi network to a PC and viewed using the software included. During configuration the sensor will search for an existing wireless network while physically connected to the PC. It can then be placed anywhere within range of the network. If the sensor temporarily loses connectivity with the network, it will log readings until it is able to communicate again with the PC application (max 60 days at 10 second sample interval). The range of the sensor can be increased by using WiFi extenders.

This WiFi-502 is a low powered battery device, which, when configured using typical sampling periods (eg once every 60 seconds) the sensor will operate for over one year. The battery can then be recharged via a PC or USB +5V wall adapter using the USB lead provided. The battery is safely charged when the unit is operating between 0 to +40°C (+32 to +104°F). It is protected against charging outside this temperature range. Sensor readings may be inaccurate during battery charging.

The software installed on the PC will allow set-up, data logging and data review. Set-up features will include sensor name, °C/°F, sample rate and high/low alarms. Once configured historic data can be viewed via the graphing tool or exported into Excel. This sensor stands alone on a horizontal surface and comes with a wall bracket that can be screwed onto a wall or flat surface.

Measurement Computing announces IOtech integration

Following the integration of IOtech‘s data acquisition products into the Measurement Computing Corporation (MCC) range earlier this year, Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts) is pleased to announce its position as the sole UK distributor of MCC and IOtech DAQ products.  This will enable Adept to better serve the DAQ community and give customers increased data acquisition flexibility.

High-speed multifunction OEM boards

Measurement Computing Corporation’s (MCC) (Norton, MA) USB-2500 Series of high-speed multifunction OEM boards are available from Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts).  The USB-2500 Series are multifunction measurement and control boards designed for OEM or embedded applications; each board is supported under the popular Microsoft Windows® operating systems.

The USB-2500 Series provides up to 32 differential or 64 single-ended analogue inputs with 16-bit resolution from its 40-pin connectors. It offers seven software-selectable analogue input ranges of ±10 V, ±5 V, ±2 V, ±1 V, ±0.5 V, ±0.2 V and ±0.1 V. You can configure up to four of the analogue inputs as differential thermocouple (TC) inputs.

The USB-2500 Series is available with up to four 16-bit, 1 MS/s analogue output channels with an output range of -10 V to +10 V. Each board has 24 high-speed lines of digital I/O, two timer outputs and four 32-bit counters. Each board also provides up to 12 MS/s scanning on all digital input lines. You can operate all analogue I/O, digital I/O and counter/timer I/O synchronously.

Measurement Computing releases new multifunction data acquisition loggers

Measurement Computing Corporation (MCC) (Norton, MA) has released the LGR-5320 series of stand-alone, multifunction data acquisition loggers. Available from Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts) the new data acquisition devices allow users to collect high-speed correlated analogue and digital data without a computer.

The LGR-5320 devices, with 16-bit resolution, 16 analogue and 16 digital inputs and four encoder inputs, perform high-speed measurements, up to 200 kS/s, directly to a Secure Digital (SD) memory card. Utilising the advanced analogue and digital triggering options users can collect data to monitor systems and events without dedicating a PC.

The LGR-5320 loggers ship with easy-to-use DAQLog™ software to configure the devices and retrieve data via the USB interface or SD memory card. Each device includes a 4 GB SD memory card and is expandable to 32 GB SD memory for collecting up to 16 billion measurements.

New high-performance temperature/relative humidity logger

Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts) is pleased to announce the addition of Measurement Computing Corporation’s (Norton, Mass) new battery-powered temperature/humidity logger with superior accuracy to its range. The USB-502-PLUS is a cost-effective solution for both long- or short-term logging applications in which accuracy and small size are important.

The USB-502-PLUS standalone data logger measures and stores up to 16,382 relative humidity and 16,382 temperature readings over the 0 to 100% RH and -35 to +80 °C (-31 to +176 °F) measurement ranges and calculates dew point. Flashing LEDs indicate logging status and a user-replaceable long-life lithium battery is included, which can typically allow up to one full year of logging.

The USB-502-PLUS logger is supported by USB-500 Series Data Logging Application software, included with the package. This user-friendly, intuitive software is used initially to configure the logger, program alarm thresholds, logging rates, start times and measurement units, etc. When the logger is retrieved from the field, the software provides simple one-click access to download, display and export the data. The user can display time-stamped temperature, relative humidity, dew point and alarm limits on a powerful strip chart graph. The data can also be downloaded to a text or a .csv (comma separated values) file. Supporting these file types allows users to export the logged data easily to Excel spreadsheets and reports with a single mouse click. The software and Measurement Computing USB-500 series data loggers are compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista.

Measurement Computing’s AI-EXP32 gives low-cost increased DAQ capabilities option
