New DAQami Advanced Data Logging Application

PR-DAQamiAdept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts) announces the release of DAQami, an advanced data logging application from Measurement Computing Corporation (Norton, Mass) which allows users to quickly and easily acquire, view, and log data from MCC USB DAQ devices.

DAQami delivers the fastest time to measurement for over 40 compatible MCC hardware devices. Once users have installed DAQami and plugged in a DAQ device, they’re able to create an automatic configuration and acquire live data in 5 minutes or less!

Data can be acquired in volts and degrees, as well as custom units with linear scaling. Channels can be viewed on any combination of scalar, strip and block displays. Once data is acquired and logged, DAQami can be used to review the saved data file.
DAQami’s flexible user interface makes it easy to customise display size and location, zoom factor and channel/trace colours. Users can also configure MCC DAQ hardware within the application, selecting sampling rate, start and stop triggers and sample count.

New low-cost 16-bit DAQ

PR-USB-230-SeriesAdept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts.) announces two new, low-cost, 16-bit, multifunction USB DAQ devices from Measurement Computing Corporation (Norton, Mass.). With sample rates up to 100 kS/s, the new USB-230 Series is now available from Adept Scientific in the UK.

Two models are included in the USB-230 Series. The USB-234 offers sample rates up to 100 kS/s, and the USB-231 up to 50 kS/s. Both models feature eight single-ended/four differential analogue inputs. There are eight digital I/O lines, with each digital channel software-selectable for both input and output.

The devices also feature a 32-bit counter input and two 16-bit analogue outputs; the latter can be updated at a rate up to 5 kS/s per channel. An external digital trigger input is software-selectable for rising edge or falling edge detection.

Removable screw-terminal connectors make signal connections easy. A high-speed Micro-USB cable is included and no external power source is needed.

The devices are supplied with a range of software, including out-of-the-box TracerDAQ® for quick-and-easy logging and displaying of data; and InstaCal, an all-in-one package for installation, configuration and test. There’s also comprehensive support for C®, C++®, C#®, Visual Basic®, and Visual Basic .NET™; and drivers for DASYLab®, and NI LabVIEW™.

Popular USB DAQ devices get OEM makeover

Measurement Computing’s USB-1208, 1408 and 1608 modules are among our most popular data acquisition devices, offering up to 500 kS/s sampling, eight or 16 digital I/Os, and up to two analogue outputs. They’re fast, reliable and low cost, and as a result, there’s been a clamour from OEM and embedded customers for bare-board versions.

Now we’re happy to announce that Measurement Computing has released board-only versions of the USB-1208FS, 1408FS and 1608FS devices, as well as the high-speed USB-1608G, GX and GX-2AO products. New low-cost, hand-held data loggers measure temperature, humidity or thermocouples

PR-Image-USB-600-SeriesThe USB-600 Series from Measurement Computing Corporation (Norton, Mass.) are hand-held, battery-powered data loggers with an LCD display that shows real-time readings, graphs of data and current status. Simple push-button controls are used to start and stop logging, review logger settings, determine memory used and view max and min readings. The loggers, which are available in the UK from Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts.), also feature LED and audible high and low alarms.

The single-channel USB-601 can collect temperature measurements between -30C and +80C, while the USB-602 can read relative humidity levels as well. The dual-channel USB-603 offers K, J and T type thermocouple measurements and includes two type K thermocouples. Current pricing can be seen here.

With the software supplied with all three models, users can select sampling rate, start time and logging mode, and perform data download and analysis. Over 250,000 readings can be stored, with sampling intervals from 2 seconds to 2 hours.

The user can set up the logger and view downloaded data by plugging the module into a USB port on a PC. Data can then be graphed, printed and exported to Excel® or other programs via a .csv file.

BTH-1208LS_265A new Bluetooth™ data acquisition device from Measurement Computing Corporation (Norton, Mass.) has been released through UK distributor Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts.). The BTH-1208LS is designed for the growing tablet and smartphone market. It offers multifunction operation, Android™ and Windows® device driver support and Bluetooth connectivity, and is powered by rechargeable batteries.

The BTH-1208LS features eight single ended 11-bit or 12-bit differential analogue inputs, two analogue outputs, 8 digital I/Os and one counter input. The device offers both Bluetooth and USB connections and can sample at up to 1 kS/s in Bluetooth mode and up to 50 kS/s in USB mode. For OEM and embedded designs, the BTH-1208LS-OEM is a board-only version which requires user-supplied power.

For developing applications on Android-based devices, the new Universal Library for Android™ includes examples for Android platforms 3.1 and later. Windows software support includes out-of-the-box TracerDAQ®, Universal Library™ support for Visual Studio® and Visual Studio® .NET programming languages, along with drivers for DASYLab®, and NI LabVIEW™.
