Thomson Reuters has just released brand new updates to the EndNote X7.4 desktop and online applications.
New EndNote online 3.8.1 now offers additional web capture sources, including Wikipedia, WorldCat OCLC, and DSpace. This new version is available as soon as you log in to your account. Visit http://www.myendnoteweb.com
New EndNote desktop X7.1 now offers combined and smart groups sync capability for both Mac/Win platforms. This lets users with more than one install of EndNote sync Smart and Combined Group across multiple desktop installations. That means they can create, edit, and/or delete a Smart or Combined Group and automatically replicate those changes across multiple desktop clients.
Other new Windows-only features (these features were already released with X7 for Mac) include:
– An expanded set of PDF annotation tools
– A new getting started dialogue to help new or upgraded users orientate themselves with the Sync, Find Full Text, Cite While you Write and online features in EndNote.
– Improvements to Find Full Text – retrieve up to 1000 attachments at a time. Better integration and results from PubMed. Save time and let EndNote automatically attach imported PDFs to suitable existing references matched by DOI or create a new reference if no match can be found.
– Quick Search results are now highlighted in the library review for quick and easy indentification.
If you’re using EndNote X7.4, the update is available via Help > EndNote Program Updates or you can download it from the Thomson Reuters’ website.
If you’re using an earlier version of EndNote, you’ll need to upgrade to get your hands on the latest X7.1 release. Buy and download your upgrade from your local WebStore here.
If you’re at a UK or Irish university with an EndNote site licence, you can log in to Adept4Edcation with your academic ID to buy an EndNote X7.4.1 Personal Licence.
