More Visualisation Tools
Create high impact plots and animations for a better physical understanding of simulation behaviour
- plot3D: Plot and visualise vector and matrix data as 3D objects (points, curves, solid surfaces)
- light3D: Create and adjust directions of light in 3D plots
- animation3D: Animates 3D surfaces
- mesh3D: Plot mesh data from a DirectX file
- world3D: Load and plot VRML worlds
New Random Numbers Generation Routines
Better simulate the noise in real-world systems
- cauchy: Generates random numbers for a Cauchy distribution
- erlang: Generates random numbers for a Erlang distribution
- pareto: Generates random numbers for a Pareto distribution
- rayleigh: Generates random numbers for a Rayleigh distribution
- triangular: Generates random numbers for a Triangular distribution
- weibull: Generates random numbers for a Weibull distribution
VisSim Matrix Language
A high-level language for the rapid manipulation and creation of matrices
- abs(m): Absolute value of each elements of m
- cos(m): Cosine of each element of m
- diag(v): 2D matrix with vector v on diagonal
- eye(m): n x n matrix with 1's on the diagonal
- inv(m): Matrix inverse
- length(m): matrix with the number of elements of m
- log10(m): Log base 10 of each element
- log2(m): Log base 10 of each element
- log(m): Natural log of each element
- max(m): Returns a vector of which each element is the maximum value of each column of m
- min(m): Returns a vector of which each element is the minimum value of each column of m
- ones(n): N x n matrix of all 1's
- pi: Scalar pi
- rand(n): n x n matrix with each element a random number
- reshape(m,r,c): Reshape matrix m to r rows and c columns
- sin(m): Sine of each element of m
- size(m,k): Number of elements in the kth dimension
- sqrt(m): Square root of each element of m
- zeros: n x n matrix of all 0's
New Matrix Operations
More maths functionality than ever
- eigenvalues: Computes the eigenvalues and right eigenvectors for an n x n real nonsymmetric matrix
- linearSolve: Computes the solution to a real system of linear equations, including underdetermined and overdetermined systems
- matrixConst: Creates a matrix in a scrollable table
- matrixOut: View a matrix in a scrollable table
- meanSmooth: Smooths a signal according to a trailing mean
- medianSmooth: Smooths a signal according to a trailing mean
- polyFit: Calcuates a polynomial fit to two vectors of data and returns the resulting curve with a user-defined independent variable
- polyRoots: Calculates the roots of a polynomial with real coefficients
- splineFit: Calcuates a spline fit to two vectors of data and returns the resulting curve with a user-defined independent variable
Usability Enhancements
- Get working faster
- Force VisSim to start up with the last saved diagram
- Display non-printing blue margins on block diagrams to show the printable area
- Select all blocks at the current hierarchical level
- Print only the current view
- Autosave simulations are user-defined intervals
- Automatically add simulations to VisSim menu from a directory path
- The $runCount macro allows auto file naming on each run of multi-run simulations

Product Reviews |
"Due to its power, flexibility, ease-of-use, and low cost, VisSim has been Carrier's choice for system modeling, simulation, data acquisition, and rapid prototyping for over eight years." Mr. Richard Kolk - Manager Simulation & Control Technology
"For my current project, VisSim has allowed me to collapse my firmware development time from months down to about a week. It is almost impossible to overstate the importance of VisSim to my development time-table." -Greg Gottschalk Electrical Engineer |
