Create and distribute Mathcad Enterprise
worksheets via the Web
Mathsoft wants organisations' engineers to view and to interact with
critical calculations collected in Mathcad Enterprise “any time,
any where,” allowing companies to become more efficient, improve
productivity and reduce time-to-market cycles. The solution is Mathcad
Application Server™ — Web-based server software that creates
and distributes Mathcad Enterprise worksheets in HTML, allowing engineers
to capture, apply and share calculations on the Internet, intranet or
extranet via a standard Web browser.
With Mathcad Application Server, remote engineers can interact with documents
through simple HTML form fields. They do not need to know HTML, ASP or
any other Web-based languages in order to create effective worksheets.
Conversion is a “back-end process,” meaning Mathcad Application
Server software runs on a Web server, which automatically converts all
Mathcad Enterprise worksheets into HTML. The only knowledge required of
them is a basic understanding of how to use an Internet Web browser and
elements such as text boxes and drop down menus. Engineers use only simple
and intuitive dialogue boxes of the Mathcad Application Server to generate
and deploy the complex Web-based math calculations.
Mathcad Application Server supports all built-in math functionality,
including graphical output of results, for the creation of Mathcad Enterprise
Web pages — which can be saved and reused in multiple engineering
projects. Users are free to recalculate the documents an unlimited number
of times in a single browser session. Even if a decision maker at the
enterprise — or at a customer's or partner's site — does not
have Mathcad Enterprise installed, the individual can still interact with
the results via any Web browser, speeding up the time-sensitive input
process.
The server software is easily installed on Microsoft's Windows 2000 and
Microsoft Advanced Windows 2000 servers. Mathcad Application Server takes
advantage of all the security features found in Microsoft's Internet Information
Services (IIS).
If your enterprise needs a standard and secure method to have engineers
interact with your organization's complex calculations from different
locations, then download
