DynaFlexPro
 DynaFlexPro
is a Maple package for modeling and simulating the dynamics of mechanical
multibody systems. A graphical user interface, DynaFlexPro ModelBuilder,
facilitates the rapid creation of system models using block diagrams
and drop-down menus. DynaFlexPro combines graph theory with engineering
mechanics in algorithms that automatically generate the system equations
from the system model.
Maple’s powerful computer algebra technologies are used to create
concise and efficient sets of system equations in symbolic form, which
facilitates viewing, physical insight, and sharing. Not only does this
facilitate the design, optimization, simulation and control of complex
engineering systems, this symbolic approach is well-suited to teaching
of mechanical system design.
The latest usability features of DynaFlexPro v3.0 mean that you can
produce models of complex mechanical systems without knowing anything
about linear graph theory or Maple command syntax. New Task Assistants
and a Coordinate Selection dialog provide a much easier user interface
for developing your mechanical systems models than ever before.

New Features in DynaFlexPro 3.0
- Project Manager User Interface
Guides you through the model development process with step-by-step instructions,
buttons and dialog boxes.
- Model Development Guide
Step-by-step guide to creating a new model - or loading an existing
one – generating
the model equations and viewing them.
- Coordinate System Selection in ModelBuilder
Unlike most other multi-body system modeling tools that only generate
models in one, absolute coordinate system, DynaFlexPro allows you to
select the starting coordinate system to which the rest of the system
reference frames are mapped. This can produce much more concise equations
than purely absolute coordinates. However, to use this feature, you
needed to know a little about linear graph theory concepts like T-Trees
and R-Trees and how they relate to the coordinate systems.
Now, you
simply the select the coordinate system that is most appropriate
for your application. If you’re not sure, the system will even
recommend a coordinate system that minimizes the size and number of
equations.
- Equation Builder Assistant
The Equation Builder Assistant walks you through converting the model
description to the kinematic and dynamic equations that describe the
motion of the system. There are many options that can be set in this
process and the Assistant allows you to set them without knowing any
Maple command syntax.
You can then navigate through the resulting model
to view and export the equations you need for your work.
- Simulation Assistant
All parameters are available through the Simulation Assistant to produce
plots of the behavior of the system. All the Maple commands used to
produce the simulation can be saved in the Maple worksheet for easy
re-execution.
