ScientificErrorAnalysis: The Latest Package
Available from MaplePrimes
ScientificErrorAnalysis is a new package of routines for representing
and constructing numerical quantities that have a value and an associated
error. These quantities can then be used to propagate errors through a
computation. The associated error can be specified in absolute form, relative
form or units in the least digit form. Once the quantity structure has
been constructed, various first-order calculations of error analysis can
be performed, including the correlation between two quantities, the variance
of a quantity, or the covariance between two quantities. Predefined rounding
rules are used when applying rules or combining errors.
However, this flexible package provides the ability to define and add
your own rules to be applied to the quantity. The ScientificErrorAnalysis
package is fully compatible with the ScientificConstants package. Therefore,
calculating the errors of derived physical constants can be performed
easily. Scientific Error Analysis is the latest package available for
download from the MaplePrimes website at http://www.adeptscience.com/go?pg=O77.
