Create Pointer in Spreadsheet

This menu can be used to create or edit pointer structures, which point to specified columns in the spreadsheet. Pointers created in this way are saved in the GenStat Spreadsheet (GSH) or GenStat Book (GWB) file and reloaded each time with the spreadsheet. The pointers can either refer to all structures, a specific type within a spreadsheet, or may refer to a specific set of selected columns. When specifying a structure type (variate, factor, text) the order and number of columns in the pointer will reflect the current state of the spreadsheet. If a selected set of columns is set into a pointer, the order and number of columns will remain fixed (apart from renaming and deleting columns).
