Introducing new DAQami and USB-5106 from Measurement Computing (MCC)

The engineers at value-priced DAQ developers, Measurement Computing, have been busy this month with the launch of two new products: an easy-to-use advanced data logging application called DAQami and a new low-cost analogue data logger – the USB-5106.

For time-pressed individuals who want a fast time to measurement, the new DAQami application will let them configure their DAQ set-up, acquire, view, and log live data from over 40 different MCC hardware devices in less than 5 minutes!

Data can be acquired in volts and degrees, as well as custom units with linear scaling. Channels can be viewed on any combination of scalar, strip, and block displays. Once data is acquired and logged, DAQami can be used to review the saved data or export it to a .CSV file. The flexible DAQami user interface provides the ability to customise display size and location, zoom factor, and channel/trace colours. Users can configure MCC DAQ hardware within the application, selecting sampling rate, start and stop triggers, and sample count.

The USB-5106 is a four-channel, battery powered, analogue data logger that logs temperature data as well as current and voltage signals up to 24 V. The 4 MB of memory can store up to 1.9 million measurements, while the built-in LCD screen displays sensor readings, logging status, battery use and memory consumption. Device set-up and sampling intervals, burst logging and high/low alarms can all be configured using the included software via a USB connection to a PC or Mac. Data can be exported to a variety of formats including .csv, .txt, or Microsof®t Excel® (.xls).

Thank you so much for all your help this morning. Endnote works just fine now and I’m enjoying working on this editorial. I am almost tempted to add your name as a co-author, but the journal won’t allow it! Thanks again.

I recommend EndNote to all my students who I supervise on dissertations at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Sometimes they ask if I get commission for doing this, which I do not. But the software is great, and fantastic time saver when putting journal articles or theses together.

I began using Origin because of its versatility in the varied experimental work that we do, from electrophysiology to clinical studies. I have stayed with Origin because of the high level of statistical expertise and customer service that we get from technical support staff.”

Bob worked tirelessly over many hours (and days!) to try to resolve the issue. His efforts were truly appreciated on my behalf. He was polite, caring and nothing was too much trouble. Many, many thanks Bob.
