New Features in DASYLab 11.0
General
The modules have a new look: The module corners are rounded, the modules
are framed with a continuous line, and the background color is lighter
and shaded.
DASYLab now supports long filenames and file paths in the entries where
DASYLab reads or saves files. Depending on the Windows operating system
the paths can be up to 250 characters long.
You can now scroll in the worksheet and also in the layout with the
mouse wheel. If you press <Ctrl>, you change the direction from
vertical to horizontal.
As before you can use the spacebar to move the worksheet in the workspace,
but now you also can use the mouse wheel or the middle mouse button.
If you press the spacebar, you can move the worksheet until you press
the left mouse button. If you keep the mouse wheel pressed, you can move
the worksheet. As soon as you release the mouse wheel, DASYLab positions
the worksheet in the workspace.
The following hotkeys have been added to DASYLab:
<F11> Go to the subsequent channel in the channel bar in the
open module dialog box.
<F12> Go to the previous channel in the channel bar in the
open module dialog box.
<Ctrl-B> Show or hide browser
<Ctrl-D> Show or hide FIFO list and FIFO graph
<Ctrl-I> Show or hide info block
<Ctrl-M> Show or hide module bar
<Ctrl-Y> Show or hide console
A number of dialog boxes have been revised and linked to a Help page.
Global
Settings
The Worksheet behavior group contains the setting Outsource processing
modules to threads. If you enable this setting, specific modules are
processed in threads. Thus, certain tasks are processed separately from
the worksheet. This leads to faster processing. Currently the NI-DAQmx
driver and the DAP driver use this setting. Disable this setting if your
worksheet does not work smoothly.
Assign to Module Bar
The selection dialog box for the assignment of the module bar now lists
the complete names of all modules registered in DASYLab. Additionally
the dialog box displays the module symbol 1:1, so that you can differentiate,
for example, the inputs and the outputs of several registered drivers
better.
Replace Module
If you select Replace Module from the context menu of a module, the
selection dialog box contains all the modules with compatible channel
assignments including the complete module name and the name of the module
group.
Layout
When saving a layout in JPEG format over an action, the image quality
is better. DASYLab adds a filename extension to the specified name if
the specified filename extension does not correspond with the selected
graphic format.
Reference Curve Editor
Use the reference curve editor to load and to display reference curves
and to edit and to generate new reference curves. The reference curve
editor is a self-contained application which you can open and operate
next to DASYLab. The reference curve editor displays the minimum values,
the mean values, and the maximum values of a reference curve. The reference
curve editor displays the values numerically in a table and graphically
in the curve display. You edit the reference curve in the table. In the
table you can insert, add, and delete rows and also single values. In
the curve display you can zoom and select curve sections. Each change
that you make in the table, the curve display shows immediately.
Diagram
Module
You can display triggered and non-triggered time data with the Diagram
module. Triggered data have time gaps, which are greater than the sampling
rate, between successive data blocks.
If you move the left cursor over the right cursor in the window display
of the diagram, DASYLab displays the cursor in red and not in black any
more.
The diagram now supports the display of reference curves. You can display
the reference curve and tolerance range in different colors.
E-Mail Module
DASYLab can now send e-mails without an e-mail client. DASYLab uses
the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) as the standard system. The
SMTP server receives the e-mails from DASYLab and sends the e-mails to
the target address via the internet. Internet providers and companies
supply SMTP servers. However, DASYLab does not support the encrypting
protocols Transport Layer Security (TLS) and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
DASYLab cannot use internet providers that use these encrypting protocols,
as an SMTP server. If you have questions, contact your IT administrator.
Action
Module
The actions Copy variable range and Copy string range have been added
to the action list. These actions copy several connected variables or
strings to a different position within the variable list or the string
list. As variable parameters you can specify, for example, the first
variable to be copied, the number of variables to be copied, and the
target number to which the first variable is to be copied.
Read Data Module
You can use the synchronization settings in the Read Data module to
specify whether DASYLab reads the data with the measured sampling rate
and block size, or whether DASYLab reads the values with the sampling
rate and the block size of a synchronization basis you can select.
Write
Data Module
Further path handling options have been added to the Write Data module.
If you enter a filename without a path or drive specification, DASYLab
creates this file in the default folder for data. If you enter a filename
with a dot and backslash, for example, .\MyFile.tdm, DASYLab also creates
this file in the default folder Data. If you enter a filename only with
a backslash, for example, \MyFile.tdm, DASYLab creates this file in the
root folder of the drive that DASYLab is installed on, for example, C:\MyFile.tdm,
if DASYLab is installed under C:\Program Files.
DataSocket Import and
DataSocket Export Modules
The Item button with which you can browse to the server in the network
is not available in Windows Vista.
RS232 Input/Output Module
In the interface settings the default port is now COM1 and not COM2.
ModBus
Modules
The ModBus driver is not available on this CD. The driver will be available
for downloading on the DASYLab Website as soon as possible.
Multiplexer
/ Demultiplexer Module
In the worksheet the modules Mulitplexer and Demultiplexer display the
name that was used previously in the browser and in the selection dialog
box. The modules used to be called Merge and Separate.
Program Help
The descriptions of the menu functions have been completely revised.
The manual has been added to the Help and can be found under Basics.
Procedures have been added to the Help. A procedure is a step-by-step
instruction of the solution to your task. |
