Position Servo
Challenge:
Design a control system to
command the angular position of a DC servo.
Description:
A DC motor drives a rotational
inertial load. The motor shaft position is measured using a sensor.
An optional tachometer is also available to measure motor speed.
The objective is to design
a position control system such that the output angle tracks a commanded
position. The system is supplied with a PD controller with a peak time
of 50 msec and a damping ratio of 0.9. You may design any other controller
you wish.
Difficulty:
Undergraduate - first course
