Analog Plant Simulator
Challenge:
Design an electronic control system from fundamental
blocks.
Description:
Ideal for a first course in controls or an introduction
to signals and systems this system consists of a series of electronic
circuits that simulate the behavior of linear dynamical systems and
allows for interconnection and trimming to achieve a variety of responses.
The system is supplied with 3 first order lags, 2-second order lags,
one PID controller, three gain, two differential amplifiers and a summer.
This system can be used to study linear system concepts such as time
constant, steady state gain, damping, resonance and PID control. Easily
interfaces to the Quanser Q2-USB or Q8-USB to perform data acquisition, modelling and
hardware-in-the loop experiments.
Difficulty:
Undergraduate first course signals and systems
