QIC Mechatronics
Challenge:
Design and implement a complex control system utilizing
a Mechatronics system.
Description:
The Quanser Integrated Controller
(QIC) consists of a PICMicro 16F877 and a Quanser-designed development
board. It’s an ideal way to study mechatronics as it allows for
the quick implementation of complex control. Using a built in programmer
you can quickly download compiled code to the PIC thus minimizing the
design cycles. With the interfaces we have made available, you can
readily implement controllers ranging from pure state machines to complex
MIMO full state feedback digital controllers. The daughter board is
designed such that it can fit on a breadboard so you can readily test
your project and its circuitry. The daughter board features measuring
optical encoders and bipolar analog signals with the ability to drive
high current DC motors or linear power amplifiers.
