Adept General Manager, Michael Pisapia has joined the Board of Adept Scientific plc (Letchworth, Herts).

The addition of Mike to Adept’s Board brings the number of directors to four; joint-owners and founders Paul and Elaine Bragg, Mike Willis and now Mike Pisapia.

“With his wealth of international experience Mike was a natural choice for the Board,” commented Adept Managing Director, Paul Bragg.

Mike is well-known internationally within test and measurement and process control. With his extensive experience of setting-up and managing global companies and company mergers and acquisitions, Mike is ideally placed to strategically grow Adept into new markets.

As an electronics engineer, Mike spent eight years developing guided weapon and missile tracking systems for local defence contractor BAe Systems. With such experience, it is no surprise that latterly Mike was instrumental to the starting and running of several international companies focussing on data acquisition, sensors and gas detection. As acting Managing Director, Mike travelled the world bringing data acquisition to a much broader audience.

Mike is well known to the local business community and is a strong advocate of local business support. Where possible Mike encourages links with local companies using their services as much as possible. He also has close ties with the local Business Link and continues to keep abreast of current trends.

Mike said: “My strengths lie in strategy and vision – looking at the bigger picture to build a long-term future”.

As Adept’s General Manager, Mike is responsible, operationally, for international sales, customer support and service and, at Board level, for building on the strategic vision of Adept.

Mike is also developing the product range and exploring integration of existing products with new propositions. This includes managing the German office to look at longer term growth.
