Designed to be faster, modular and more powerful than its predecessor, Micro Saint Sharp (MSS) version 3.6, the general purpose, discrete-event simulation software tool from Alion Science and Technology (McLean, VA), is now available from Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts).

Micro Saint Sharp’s power, flexibility and optimisation tools make it the simulation tool of choice, answering your “what if” questions.  What if I change the way humans work with the system?  What if I change my resource mix?  What if I rearrange the process?

Micro Saint Sharp 3.6 has new critical path and path hit reports as well as three ways to view your models: network diagram view, 2D animation and 3D animation.

New enhancements in Micro Saint Sharp version 3.6 include:

• The new Critical Path Report.  View the fastest/slowest paths between any two tasks in your model.  This new report automatically updates your network diagram to show the shortest path in green and the longest in red.
• The new Path Hits Report allows you to graphically see how often each path was taken.  The paths in your network diagram will change thickness to indicate how often each path was taken.  Thicker lines indicate paths that were followed more often.
• The new Automatic Fork/Merge Capability enables multiple entity management by simply checking a checkbox.
• Take advantage of your computer’s processing power with the new Parallel Execution option.
• Micro Saint Sharp is now integrated with the Mercurial Version Control System (a popular, free open source system) enabling multiple users to work on models at the same, tracking changes as they happen.
• The new Time Formatting option allows you to specify the time units used in your model and optionally display results in the DD:HH:MM:SS format.
• The expanded state of code boxes in the task editor is now saved into the model.
