High-tea at Adept Scientific
Once again Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts) went all out to raise money on Jeans for Genes day (Friday 2nd October).
As well as wearing jeans to work, the Adept social club made things a little more exciting with bingo and a cream tea. Home-baked scones were made by the more culinary skilled amongst us, with the more intrepid enjoying ‘afternoon tea’, including trifle, whilst playing bingo for the princely reward of a fun sized bag of chocolate.
Adept staff raised just over £100, which, as is the custom, was doubled by the Company.
“As always, it is important to us that we contribute to good causes and the recession is no excuse to renege on our responsibilities – especially where fun and food can be ingeniously incorporated,” Paul Bragg, Adept’s Managing Director commented.
“Not that we need much of an excuse to have fun at work but, Jeans for Genes is a hugely worthwhile charity that we’re pleased to have been able to support for many years now.”
Jeans for Genes provides much needed help, support and information for children and their families by investing in ground-breaking research to establish the causes of genetic conditions and how they can be treated.
