Close to 500 licences have been sold in the six months since its release in December 2008. After a successful pilot testing period MapleSim adoption has been swift and far-reaching.

Unlike traditional tools, MapleSim uses physical modelling techniques to create model diagrams that map directly to the physical systems. MapleSim has received several accolades from engineers, researchers, instructors and the media. In a review of the product for IEEE Spectrum magazine, software reviewer Ken Foster writes, “MapleSim has a lot in common with MathWorks’ Simulink, but, interestingly, it works by finding the differential equations for a system, which Maple simplifies analytically before solving.
