Rotational, large capacity measurement with Measurement Computing’s USB-QUAD08
February 2009: Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts) has added Measurement Computing’s (Norton, Massachusetts) lightweight, high-performance, multifunction USB-QUAD08 data acquisition device to its range.
Designed with rotational measurement in mind, the new USB-QUAD08 has simultaneous input and decoding for a full eight incremental quadrature encoders. The USB-QUAD08, is unique, not just for large capacity, but for up to 48-bit resolution, 10 MHz counters and jitter at less than 1 µsec.
Serving as a high-speed pulse counter for general counting applications the USB-QUAD08 is ideal for a range of applications which need to measure rotational cause and effect.
Its eight quadrature counters with indicator LEDs support both differential and single-ended inputs and feature multiple programmable counting modes. The eight DIO bits support up to 40.2 volts with clamping diodes for CEMF suppression. Full featured and easy to use, the USB-QUAD08 has detachable screw terminals and two 37-pin D-sub connectors, pin- compatible with Measurement Computing’s PCI-QUAD04, for upgrade/migration from PCI.
