TurboCAD Professional 12 now available from Adept Scientific
Major upgrade to the affordable CAD software with comprehensive professional features for Mechanical and Architectural CAD
Power, precision and performance are the hallmarks of TurboCAD® Professional 12, the latest version of the renowned CAD software from IMSI (Novato, California). Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts.), one of the world’s leading suppliers of personal computer solutions for engineering design, believes that in terms of value for money and CAD capability, TurboCAD is the best solution for most CAD applications; and the company supplies both the Mechanical CAD and Architectural CAD versions of the current release.
TurboCAD Professional 12 delivers many significant improvements over earlier versions. New and improved tools for 2D drafting and 3D modelling deliver new possibilities in mechanical and architectural design. Improvements in rendering and the new support of LightWorks(R) Archives result in even better visualization capabilities. New, adjustable tool palettes, context sensitive tools and intuitive work flow combine to increase productivity.
TurboCAD Professional 12 Mechanical now lets the user apply material properties to individual facets of the same object and preview blends before committing to them. More geometric constraints have been added to improve the relationship between 2D constraints and the resulting 3D derived designs. Among many other enhancements, a rebuilt Part Tree gives a more complete view of part’s history and parameters.
TurboCAD Professional 12 Architectural now includes the ability to create parametric doors and windows which the user can drag and drop directly into the walls of a 3D drawing. It also allows the selection of specific properties of each object, including frames, hinges and knobs. TurboCAD will even automatically generate the appropriate symbol for the 2D version of the drawing.
TurboCAD Professional 12 continues its strong commitment to interoperability by using the latest Open Drawing Alliance(R) file libraries, allowing users access to over 30 of the most popular industry-standard file formats, including AutoCAD’s DWG and DXF, DesignCAD’s DCD, MicroStation(R) DGN, 3DS, IGES, STEP and STL. A newly added feature also supports the import and export of 3D files to and from DWF format. Users can now publish designs into PNG and GIF file formats with included Alpha Channel for transparent backgrounds. DXF, DWG and DGN input and output filters have also been updated in TurboCAD 12. Improved PDF file export features now let users export paper spaces, including rendered Viewports, customise PDF fonts, True Type, SHX, paper widths and paper heights sections.
TurboCAD Professional 12′s customisable tool environment now lets the user display only those tools that are needed, freeing up valuable screen space for designing. New, context sensitive tools eliminate unnecessary prompts and steps by making intelligent assumptions about desired outcomes, resulting in increased speed and productivity in all aspects of drafting and design. A new reflected gradient fill effect, colour transparency support and the ability to combine multiple materials and their effects into a single material, all allow for creation of more realistic drawings.
With integrated 2D drafting, 3D surface and solid modelling, and photorealistic rendering, TurboCAD Professional 12 delivers unparalleled design productivity and dramatic visual results.
TurboCAD Deluxe 12, with over 250 professional level 2D/3D design and drafting tools for those who wish create measurement-precise home plans, technical drawings, solid models, artistic illustrations etc, is also available from Adept Scientific.
With offices in the UK, USA, Germany and throughout the Nordic region, Adept Scientific is one of the world’s leading suppliers of software and hardware products for research, scientific, engineering and technical applications on desktop computers.
