Low-Cost USB-based Data Acquisition Module Wins Readers’ Choice Award
Measurement Computing’s USB-based DAQ module, the PMD-1208LS, has won a Readers’ Choice Award from the US magazine Desktop Engineering.
The PMD-1208LS is a very affordable data acquisition device that brings analogue and digital I/O to any PC’s USB port for a variety of data acquisition applications. Currently available in the UK at just £86* ex-VAT, its low cost makes it economical to equip every PC-based workstation in an organisation with data acquisition capability, eliminating the need to share hardware. It is compatible with USB 1.1 or 2.0 ports on notebook, desktop or rack-mount PCs.
Within its compact, modern design, the PMD-1208LS provides 8 channels of 12-bit analogue input, sample rates to 1.2 kS/s (8Ksps for 4000 samples), two D/A outputs and 16 DIO bits, with signals brought out to screw terminals. The price includes ready-to-run software applications including a Strip Chart recorder and a Data Logger which directly writes to Excel files. The supplied Universal Library software driver for use with Windows-based programming languages includes LabVIEW and SoftWIRE instrument drivers.
Other devices in the low-cost PMD range include 16-bit analogue input and 24-bit digital I/O models. OEM versions are also available.
