Tecplot CFD Analyzer 4.0 released
New version exploits functionality upgrades of Tecplot 10, including data journaling and preset dialogue settings
Adept Scientific announces the release of CFD Analyzer Version 4.0, an add-on to the leading data visualization software, Tecplot. CFD Analyzer features extensive capabilities for post-processing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) results, and this new version takes advantage of the advanced functionality of the latest version of Tecplot, including the ability to store auxiliary data.
While thousands of engineers and scientists rely on Tecplot alone as their CFD post-processor, those seeking more advanced capabilities complement Tecplot with CFD Analyzer. CFD Analyzer makes users more productive by quickly finding, extracting and processing the critical information. Included in CFD Analyzer are many of the functions commonly used to calculate variables and perform integrations. CFD Analyzer helps users examine grid quality, perform spatial integrations, generate particle trajectories, extract flow features, and estimate numerical errors.
With the 4.0 release, CFD Analyzer now benefits from the sophisticated new functionality in Tecplot 10, which was released last autumn. Perhaps the most notable upgrade is support for auxiliary data. CFD Analyzer 4.0 will recognize and automatically store auxiliary data in the dialogue settings. In addition, CFD Analyzer dialogue settings are maintained individually for each dataset, allowing users to copy-and-paste settings between datasets.
“Support for auxiliary data is a major enhancement because it allows CFD Analyzer to preset most of the dialog settings with data that is often available in the file, but typically not in the user’s head,” said Tecplot, Inc’s Product Manager Don Roberts. “It automates the set-up steps and increases the user’s productivity with CFD Analyzer.”
CFD Analyzer 4.0′s other new features include support for cell-centred data, the ability to create and use shared variables and a new data journaling capability. Each of these new features was first developed for Tecplot 10 and now has been integrated into CFD Analyzer 4.0.
CFD Analyzer 4.0 is available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and most UNIX workstations. Like Tecplot itself, it is supplied and supported in the UK and Ireland by Adept Scientific plc, Amor Way, Letchworth, Herts.
