New MapleSim 6.1 release delivers advanced model development and analysis, extended toolchain connectivity and quicker results

April 2013: Maplesoft (Waterloo, Canada) has announced a new release of MapleSim, the advanced system-level modelling and simulation platform. With improved performance, more tools for programmatic analysis and model development and expanded connectivity options, MapleSim 6.1 helps engineers meet and exceed their system-level requirements.

MapleSim 6.1, available from Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts.), offers a modern approach to physical modelling and simulation, dramatically reducing model development and analysis time while producing fast, high-fidelity simulations. In MapleSim 6.1, improvements to the simulation engine mean that MapleSim can produce simulations faster than ever before.

The MapleSim Application Programming Interface (API), a collection of procedures for manipulating, simulating and analysing a MapleSim model in the Maple document environment, has been expanded to provide more flexibility for model creation and analysis.

For example, new API commands make it easier to analyse the parameters in a model programmatically, so they can take advantage of the full processing power of the computer, automatically detecting and using all available processor cores to perform computations in parallel whenever possible. As a result, engineers can perform large numbers of computations rapidly and get results faster.

Other improvements include expanded connectivity options with the new MapleSim Connector for JMAG®-RT, enhanced support for Modelica, and a new transparency option for the visualisation of multibody objects that allows engineers to add additional visual context to their models. MapleSim 6.1 is fully compatible with the recently released Maple 17, so MapleSim customers can also take advantage of all the enhancements of Maple 17, including a wide variety of improvements in both the computation engine and interface.

“Advanced projects require advanced tools, and our customers appreciate the open, ‘white-box’ modelling environment of MapleSim that gives them immense control over their modelling and analysis,” says Dr Laurent Bernardin, Executive Vice-President and Chief Scientist at Maplesoft.

“MapleSim is a vital component of the toolchain for many organisations,” added Mike Pisapia, Managing Director of Adept Scientific, “and with the new features in MapleSim 6.1, it’s even easier for customers to perform the analyses they want and get the results they need, fast.

“We’re convinced that this latest release makes MapleSim a must-have software resource for every engineer needing state-of-the-art physical modelling capability.”
The Maplesoft product range is supplied and supported by Adept Scientific in the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and the Nordic countries.

What do our Customers say about us?

Tutor was very knowledgeable and taught in a way that was easy to follow

KH, Uxbridge, UK

“I am very satisfied with Origin. I think Origin is an excellent plotting tool. Its capabilities are vast, diverse, and beyond my needs. I appreciate the fact that almost anything on a plot can be adjusted according to a desired preference.”

Matthew D. Sena - Sandia National Laboratories

Bob’s performance was outstanding – a real credit to the company.

“Looking online for a software that would perform the particular task we need at the moment (resolution of overlapped Gaussian-shaped peaks), I was glad to find out that a fully functional trial version of OriginPro was made available by your company. Also, watching one of the tutorial videos, all commands and short-cuts I needed to get my results were shown there. Very handy and a time-saver.”
