When trying to start the Single-User version of Mathcad:

You receive the error message: "application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)."

or

An hour glass appears and then disappears, but Mathcad does not launch

You have downloaded Windows XP SP2 and it has turned off Mathcad's Authentication Software

Go to Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. In the Services, find the Service C-DillaCdaC11BA and start the service. Please right click on the Service, choose Properties, and turn the service to Automatic so that the service will start when you boot your PC.
