I have been sent a ChemFinder database including all its associated files (.mdb, .msi, .mst). I have put these together into a folder. When I try to open the ChemFinder file I get the error message: Unrecognised db format 'c:\STX Database\Sterixcompounds database.mdb'. I am using the same version of ChemFinder as the originator of the database. However, the database originator is using Access 2000 & I am using Access 97. Is this the problem?

The software detects if Microsoft Access is present and if it is, which version.  Once it knows the version of Access present, it sets things up (uses either the dao360.dll or dao350.dll) so that it puts the MDB files created by ChemFinder in the format that is consistent with the local copy of Access.

The Access 2000 user would need to use Access to convert the MDB file to the previous version of Access, and then send you the converted files.
