Why is there a delay when I select Edit, Spellcheck or File, Preferences?

The Spellcheck utility and the File, Preferences dialog uses the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). If the JRE has not been initialized, there is a delay. Once the JRE has been initialized in a Maple session, the Spellcheck and File,Preferences dialogs appear immediately.
