Is it possible to install Maple 8 onto SuSe 8.1?

SuSe 8.1 is not an officially supported platform for Maple 8. Waterloo Maple has conducted no formal testing with SuSe 8.1 and Maple. As such, we cannot guarantee that the installation will be successful

However, you may be able to install Maple 8 on SuSe 8.1 with the following workaround.

- Copy the contents of the Maple 8 CD to your hard drive.

- Open the LinuxInstaller.bin file and at line 1335, add this line and resave:

unset LD_ASSUME_KERNEL

- Start the installation process again (this time from your hard drive).
