It is possible that the CambridgeSoft installer is trying to install the ChemFinder for Excel and/or ChemCombi Add-in and cannot because Excel or part of MS Office is on a write-protected drive. If you have MS Office on any write-protected drives, you should do a custom install and NOT install ChemFinder for Excel and or ChemCombi Add-in. Otherwise, we will need you to generate a log file to figure out what is going on. To generate a log file:
Go to the Start Menu and choose Run, and then type the following (substitute Pro for Ultra if you are installing the Pro version):
msiexec /i "D:\INSTALL\CS ChemOffice Ultra 2000.Msi" /l*v log.log
where "D" is the letter of your cd-rom drive containing the ChemOffice Ultra cd-rom. Then click OK to generate the log file. The installation log file that gets generated is called log.log. Use the Windows Find File utility to find it, and then send it to us at chem@adeptscience.co.uk |
