File types that StatView can open are:

DataSet (.svd)  -  StatView dataset files
ViewSet (.svv)  -  StatView views (for resuming work) or templates (for reusing views with different data)
DataSet Transfer (*.ssd)  -  Cross-platform (Mac/Win) datasets from StatView
SAS Transport (.xpt)  -  SAS transport file
SAS Dataset (.sd2)  -  SAS data file
Excel Worksheet (.xls)  -  Excel version 4 worksheets
Text (*.txt)  -  Text files
Supported Files  -  Any file that StatView can open
All Files (*.*)  -  Any file

If you select a file of some other type, StatView will attempt to open it as text.

It is not possible to directly import dBase files into StatView - you would first need to save it as a delimited text or Excel file.
