    It is possible to collect data from multiple instruments connected to the PC via a multiplexor, providing that the data format from each device is similar. For example if the data transmitted by one device is in a completely different format than from the other devices, you would be better off running a separate instance of the Wedge for each serial port so that you could configure each Wedge specifically for the instrument connected to the particular port.

    If you run everything through a multiplexer, the data from each device must be handled by the same instance of the Wedge therefore the data should be in a similar format.
