I'm new to LabVIEW, and want to use one of the Measurement Computing data acquisition boards. What do I need? And where do I start?

To use any data acquisition hardware products with LabVIEW, you’ll need to download the MCC DAQ CD which contains driver software for each device, along with the Universal Library for LabVIEW.

There are 2 versions of the Universal Library that install seamlessly with LabVIEW. Which version required depends on the version of LabVIEW installed. One is for LabVIEW versions 6.0 - 7.1 (UL) and another for LabVIEW version 8.2 and above (ULx). Both add an extra icon to the Function Palette within LabVIEW which show all of the Universal Library VI’s available. All of the Universal Library VIs include on-line help and a set of sample application VIs.

For LabVIEW v6.1 - 7.2, example applications can be found at: C:\program files\National Instruments\Labview xxxx\examples\Universal Library
(where xxxx is the version of LabVIEW)

For LabVIEW 8.2 and above, example applications can be found at: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW xxxx\vi.lib\ULx
(where xxxx is the version of LabVIEW)
