Mathtype 13B5A Solution to the 'Unidentified Developer' error message. With Macintosh OS X 10.8 a new security measure was introduced called Gatekeeper, designed to provide greater control as to what can or cannot be installed onto your Macintosh. Depending on how this is set, it may stop the MathType installer from running. You can run the installation without changing any security settings as follows: After expanding the .dmg file, CTRL+Click (Or right-click) the MathType installer package to expose the contextual menu and click 'Open.' This will produce a new dialog asking you to confirm your intention of opening the installer Click Open. Once this last confirmation is done, the MathType installer will run.
