It is possible to Direct Export from certain websites to EndNote Web in Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Note: other web browsers, like Safari, Chrome and Opera do not support direct export at this time.
Firefox 4.0
1. Log-on to http://www.myendnoteweb.com and click the Download Installers link at the bottom of any page.
2. Under Firefox Extension click the Download Windows/Macintosh link.
3. If you get a pop-up saying it's blocked, press Allow.
4. Press Install.
5. Click Tools > Addons > Extensions > and select Enable if the EndNote Web add-on is disabled. Re-start FireFox.
To configure the file types EndNote Web uses, or to turn it off, go to Tools > Addons > Extensions > EndNote Web > Options (to configure) or Disable (to Disable).
Internet Explorer 8
NOTE: you must be allowed to install and un-install programs on the computer. If you're in a University, Hospital or other 'restricted' environment, please contact your IT Department.
Un-install any existing version of the EndNote Web plug in, then:
1. Log-on to http://www.myendnoteweb.com and click the Download Installers link at the bottom of any page.
2. Close Microsoft Word and Outlook (if running).
3. Click the Download Windows (with Internet Explorer Plugin) link, then press Run.
4. If prompted, press Run at the 'Security' warning
5. Run through the installer (pressing 'Next' and 'Finish' as appropriate).
6. Click Tools > Manage Addons > select both the EndNote Web entries and press Enable.
7. If you'd like to see the toolbar, click View > Toolbars > EndNote Web.
