1. Connect the device and perform an ActiveSync.
2. If EndNote is not installed, then isntall it. If it is already installed, navigate to Control Panel > EndNote and select Modify.
3. Run through the install and make sure the EndNote for Handheld Device option is selected.
4. After this, a Window will appear asking you to select things ot install onto the device. Select ThomsonResearchSoft.
N.B. If you get a message on your device saying "Installation was unsuccessful", then navigate to:
Control Panel > Windows Mobile Device Centre > Programs and Services > Add/Remove Programs.
and re-run the installation.
5. Now the program will appear on the PDA, but it is likely you will need to install the tools which it needs to run. Using Control Panel > Windows Mobile Device Centre > Programs and Services > Add/Remove Programs, install as required:
.NET Compact.
SQL [3 entries]
6. Check the program runs on the mobile device.
7. ENX2, navigate to: Tools > Options > Configure Handheld Device
8. Select a library to transfer and press OK at the two information boxes.
9. In Microsoft ActiveSync, go to Tools > Options, and ensure the EndNote component is selected for syncing.
10. Perform an ActiveSync to synchronise your library with your handheld device.

Note: This articles applies only to Windows Mobile [Pocket PC] devices. It does NOT apply to Palm devices.
Note: Smartphones are NOT supported. If your device is a Smartphone it may not work.
Note: EndNote does not support 'beaming' of references.
Note: You may only have one library on your handheld device. If you choose to sync with a different library from your desktop PC, any library currently on your handheld device will be overwritten.
