This will be resolved in a future update to EndNote X2, however in the meantime you can do the following to get around the issue:

Windows Vista:
Go to the "Start" Menu and type "Regedit" and hit the Enter key.

Windows XP:
Click on the start menu, Choose "Run" and type "Regedit" and Click OK.

You now need to locate and change one of the registry keys, this is achieved as follows:

1. Go to the folder

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ISI ResearchSoft\EndNote\Plugins\WebServices

2. Go to the Edit Menu, Choose "New" and then "Multi-String Value"
3. Change the name of the New String to

ShowENWebRegScreenForVer_12.0.1

4. Right Click on the string and choose Modify.
5. Set the "Value Data" to F
6. Close the Registry Editor and launch EndNote X2.0.1.
