I am having problems importing from PubMed - none of the reference details are being imported.

Information can be imported from PubMed into Reference Manager and EndNote as follows:

    EndNote

    A. Launch your web browser and navigate to http://www.pubmed.gov
    B. Perform a search of PubMed using the various options available
    C. Tick the references you wish to import

Tip: You can send references to the clipboard using the 'Send to' menu so that you can import references from many searches

    D. Click on the 'Display' drop down menu and select Medline
    E. Click on the 'Send to' drop down menu and select File
    F. Save the file to your desktop or another known location
    G. Launch EndNote and open your library
    H. Click on File, Import and specify the text file you saved from PubMed
    I. Select the "PubMed (NLM)" import filter and click on Import

The references from PubMed will now appear in your EndNote library.

    E. Click on the 'Send to' drop down menu and select File
    F. Save the file to your desktop or another known location
    G. Launch Reference Manager and open your database
    H. Click on File, Import Text File
    I. Specify the text file you saved from PubMed
    J. Select the "PubMed" import filter
    K. Click on Import

The references from PubMed will now appear in your Reference Manager database.

Note: There are slight variations in the exact menu commands between different versions of EndNote and Reference Manager, however the process is very similar regardless of the version you are using. The most important step is to save the references from PubMed in the Medline format.
