How do you bring back the Preferences dialog that you see during an installation of Tecplot on MAC?      
Tecplot Focus and 360 use com.tecplot.Tecplot.plist, not com.amtec.Tecplot.plist. The best way to delete this (because preferences can be stored in a network database instead of the user's local home directory) is to launch a Terminal or xterm window and enter the command:  defaults delete com.tecplot.Tecplot
