Quality on the Web |
|
|
|
NWA Quality Analyst is well established as the world's most widely used quality
analysis software for the PC, with thousands of users around the world. Now a
major new version, available from Adept Scientific plc, takes the technology
even further. NWA Quality Analyst WebServer Edition is the first true web
version of any statistical process control (SPC) software.
Up to now, SPC software could send data over the Web in view-only form. Now with
NWA Quality Analyst WebServer Edition, users across an organisation,
including customers, can have dynamic access to quality analysis data via
corporate intranets or extranets.
SQC/SPC charts created centrally can be sent to a Web Site in a variety of
different formats. These include standard graphics image formats (JPEG,
Bitmaps etc) for viewing with a standard Web Browser such as Microsoft Explorer
or Netscape Navigator, and in NWA Quality Analyst's own format, which can be
viewed, organised and printed using the Quality Analyst Graphics Viewer as
well as with the full Quality Analyst software. These charts can be
"static", which means that, once on the Web Site, the data remains
there until updated. Alternatively, they can be "dynamic" - in
other words, when a user requests a chart, it is generated directly from the most
recent data. This means that "dynamic" charts on the Web Site are
always current, so - unlike other SPC software - there is no danger of working
with out-of-date information.
Licenced users of the full NWA Quality Analyst software have full access across
the Web to the entire range of Quality Analyst SQC/SPC charts and other
functions. So they can interrogate the data dynamically, and manipulate it
within the software in the same way as data accessed directly.
The NWA Quality Analyst Graphics Viewer allows users to receive and view data in
NWA Quality Analyst format. It offers functionality not available with a
standard Web Browser: for example, users can accumulate several charts (more
than 100 at a time) and format them into multichart page layouts for display and
printing. This makes it easy for them to compare charts from multiple products,
processes or locations. In addition, Graphics Viewer users can control the
appearance of charts and, by clicking on data points, can view descriptive
information (such as date/time, shift, lot number etc) associated with the
data point. They can then save charts in a format that can be easily shared with
other NWA Quality Analyst users.
NWA Quality Analyst WebServer Edition is based on the latest NWA Quality
Analyst 5.1, powerful and flexible SPC software that is Windows 3.1x and
Windows 95 compatible across all its functions. Powerful new data editing
functions, improved file handling, more reporting options, better graphics
and text display and output, over 20 process capability indices and advanced
DDE capability. | |

NWA Quality Analyst Version 5.1 offers a very wide range of customisation
options. Its built-in data editor supports user-defined calculated
variables, sorting and many other file manipulation routines. It offers
presentation quality graphics display and output, and gives the user full
control over colours, fonts and chart aspect ratios. File loading and handling
are fast, and data files can be as large as disk space allows. The new Run File
Wizard enables the user to create batch files interactively, without
programming, to automate the SPC/SQC analysis and reporting routines.
All standard variable and attribute control charts are included in NWA Quality
Analyst, as well as many special purpose charts such as Weibull,
Median/Individuals and EWMA. Short Run charting is available for all control
charts and process capability reports. Default settings produce charts in the
most commonly accepted formats, but any chart can be easily customised by the
user. Reporting options include multiple variables across multiple files in a
single report, and box plots that let you compare and analyse multiple
parameters. A comprehensive range of statistical data analysis and reporting
routine commonly used for SPC and SQC is included, all running seamlessly under
Windows 3.1x or Windows 95. There are over 20 capability indices for process
capability analysis. Pareto diagrams can be produced from the same data files
as defect charts.
Advanced DDE capability makes it easy to link NWA Quality Analyst to popular
Windows spreadsheet, word processing, database and data acquisition
programs; the latter allows fully automated data collection. There is also an
optional Open Database Connectivity module that lets users work directly with
any ODBC-compliant data source. This makes it easy to develop fully integrated
manufacturing and quality management systems without having to manipulate
imported data files when accessing and analysing data.
