Software Has Direct
Perkin-Elmer Instrument
Control

Galactic Industries announces, through exclusive UK distributor Adept Scientific, direct instrument control and data acquisition for a wide range of Perkin-Elmer spectrometers with its market leading GRAMS/32 software. The dedicated Perkin-Elmer controller included with GRAMS/32c enables users to collect and process analytical data on a PC and integrate it with data from other lab instruments. The package is especially relevant to users of older Perkin-Elmer instruments that still perform well as spectrometers but are limited in their data handling capability.

With GRAMS/32c data from instruments such as the Perkin-Elmer 1600, 1700 and 2000 series can be collected in real time to a standard desktop PC. The software can perform extensive data analysis and manipulation functions, and a built-in Spectral Notebase is used to archive, search and store the spectra.

GRAMS/32c offers direct instrument control and acquisition for the Perkin-Elmer 1600 Series, 16PC, 2000, 1700 Series, Paragon 1000, 1300 Series, 1400 Series, 983, 983G, Lambda 2, Lambda 5, Lambda 7, Lambda 9, 320 and 330 instruments. Not only does GRAMS/32c bring a new lease of life to these Perkin-Elmer spectrometers, but can also integrate their data with the other instruments in the lab. GRAMS/32 has hundreds of file converters, so users can collect and process data from just about any analytical instrument.

The Software Solution for the Spectroscopy Lab
GRAMS/32 is the industry's most popular spectroscopy software, allowing users to organise, analyse and search all their lab data in a common, standardised format. The software's extensive processing capabilities include quantitation, peak fitting, baseline correction, data subtraction, smoothing, derivatisation, quantitive analysis and more. Security features such as audit trail tracking, user log in and supervisor electronic signature sign-off are also included.

A Search module supports full spectrum searching of leading commercial spectral libraries, such as Sadtler and Nicolet/Aldrich (including the new Raman libraries), as well as user generated libraries. GRAMS/32's powerful PLSplus/IQ add-on module for chemometrics supports PLS, PCR, and discriminant analysis.

GRAMS/32's Macro Wizard visual programming interface and Array Basic application language can be used to automate procedures through instrument control commands and the extensive library of data processing routines. The Macro Wizard's point-and-click programming is simple yet fully functional and does not require additional development tools.

GRAMS/32 provides file converters for hundreds of analytical instruments (NMR, UV-VIS, NIR, FT-IR, Raman, Mass Spectrometers etc) and industry standard file formats (such as J-CAMP), so data collected from previous software, older data stations or other instruments remain fully accessible. GRAMS/32 give users a common environment for processing all their analytical data, quickly and easily.

GRAMS/32 and its new Perkin-Elmer drivers are supplied and supported in the UK by Adept Scientific plc, 6 Business Centre West, Avenue One, Letchworth, Herts. SG6 2HB; telephone (01462) 480055, fax (01462) 480213, email info@adeptscience.co.uk.
