The DEWE-PORT is a rugged machine, capable of withstanding temperatures
between 0° and 50°C, relative humidity of up to 95% and the physical
knocks and shocks (to MIL-STD 810C) that it is likely to encounter in a factory or
field testing environment. The PC is built from high-quality standard rather
than proprietary components, housed in a tough aluminium chassis.
Dewetron's wide range of plug-in signal conditioning modules feature
selectable ranges, analogue filters and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio.
Thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, load cells, accelerometers and high
voltage signals up to 750 Vrms, all fully isolated, may be connected directly.
The module housing, the DEWE DAQ-RACK
, is also available separately for porting up to 512 analogue input channels
into existing desktop or laptop PCs. A fully engineered, screened and
CE-marked unit rather than a "bare" rack, the DAQ-RACK brings top
quality data acquisition and signal conditioning performance to industrial,
desktop and notebook PCs and provides a trouble-free means of interfacing up to
16 sensors directly to standard ISA or PCMCIA data acquisition cards.
Sensor modules simply plug into the DAQ-RACK, with no need to open the PC,
reconfigure settings or rearrange wires whenever you need to add or change an
input. Each channel is electrically isolated to 1000V and screened, so noise is
kept to a minimum despite the physical proximity of the signal conditioners.
With a standard 5V output, the modules can be used with just about any
multi-function PC board or PCMCIA card on the market. Adept recommends and
supplies ComputerBoards hardware, a very extensive range of low-noise
products that will provide a solution for virtually any PC based
instrumentation application.
Recommended data acquisition and analysis software for Dewetron systems is
DASYLab Version 3.0, which is also supplied and supported in the UK by Adept
Scientific. DASYLab makes it easy to build applications on-screen thanks to
its intuitive graphical interface. This Windows program offers a wide range of
function blocks that can be dragged into position and "wired"
together with the mouse. The blocks represent and implement input and output
channels, controls, triggers, data displays and a comprehensive choice of
mathematical, statistical, signal analysis, data reduction and file
handling operations.
A DEWE-PORT 2000 system with signal conditioning modules and DASYLab software
all sourced together from Adept Scientific provides a complete, calibrated
solution.
Dewetron systems and sensor modules, DASYLab software and ComputerBoards
data acquisition cards are available in the UK from Adept Scientific plc,
