Axum 5.0 is the first point-and-click graphing package to offer panel plots,
modelled after Trellis graphics pioneered by Bill Cleveland at Bell Labs and
Rick Becker at AT&T Labs. Panel plots allow users to condition data on
multiple variables and to examine different relationships in the data.
"Axum's exclusive technology provides users with a competitive edge and
facilitates the deeper exploration of scientific data," said Paul
Sloane, MathSoft's vice president of international sales. "With the
addition of powerful and unique new features in this release, Axum becomes the
clear leader in the technical charting market."
Axum offers complete point-and-click graphing, allowing users to create
graphs instantly by selecting data from a built-in data sheet and clicking on
one of over 80 2-D and 3-D plot buttons. This interactive, graphical approach
makes it easier for users to create and edit graphs and to switch between
different graph types.
Axum 5.0 has a unique, seamless link with Microsoft's PowerPoint, allowing
users to create presentations easily and automatically from their Axum
graphs. With the click of a button, Axum's PowerPoint wizard appears, the user
specifies which Axum graphs are to be included and the PowerPoint presentation
is created. In addition, Axum links seamlessly with Mathcad, the
industry-leading technical calculation software from MathSoft.
With new point-and-click customisation features, Axum 5.0 offers complete
control over the user interface including toolbars and menus. For example, a
user can create a customised Axum toolbar by performing any function in Axum,
then drag the automatically-generated script for that function onto a
toolbar. A new toolbar button is created and the function is executed when the
user clicks on it. This feature can be used to easily deploy graphing and data
analysis solutions within an organisation.
Axum 5.0 provides full 16- and 32-bit support and compliance with Windows 95 and
Microsoft Office.
